*Project Spotlight* Synthetic Turf Field Design, Wall, NJ

InSite Engineering provided comprehensive design, bidding, and construction support services to convert an existing natural grass field to a full-size synthetic turf field.  The field includes team shelters and bleacher systems for use by the Township of Wall and the Wall Soccer Club.  The project had several design challenges including a significant grade change which required a precise soil mass balance resulting in no export of soil from the site.  We were also tasked to design the largest field possible within the existing footprint of the field lighting configuration.  This required the construction of a retaining wall and precise coordination with the proposed stormwater system and the existing site utilities.  The new field was completed in April 2015 and has hosted thousands of youth soccer matches as well as many high school varsity matches and high profile training clinics.  After years of constant use, the field remains in excellent condition and is enjoyed by athletes on a daily basis.
